Pins Half Sister to G1 winner Scores on Debut
15 September 2011
Pretty Pins, a 3YO Pins half-sister to the G1 Toorak Hcp winner Allez Wonder, pointed to having inherited her own fair share of ability when she scored on debut at Brisbane on Wednesday.
The Patinack Farm Racing Syndicate raced filly made light work of her 1030m Doomben racecourse-based assignment, striding home for a comfortable 3.3 length win.
Bred by Cherry Taylor and Trelawney Stud, Pretty Pins is out of G2 Perth Cup winning Military Plume mare Luna Tudor.
Luna Tudor has since proved herself to be a real gem in the broodmare paddock, with her four winners from five runners being headlined by the aforementioned Bart Cummings-trained G1 winner, Allez Wonder.
It is a family that Waikato’s stallions have struck a particular chord with of late. Two weeks ago the half-sister to Pretty Pins and Allez Suez named High Tudor achieved broodmare success with the bold 1600m finish of the Fast N Famous 3YO Famous By Name.
As a yearling, Pretty Pins was secured from Trelawney’s Stud’s 2010 Premier Sale draft for $280,000. The successful purchaser was Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack Farm Pty Ltd.
