Portelli Graduating With WS Honours

Warwick Farm trainer Gary Portelli continued his successful association with WS graduates this week at Wyong where Heels made a successful return to racing. The Pins filly is raced by Garry Chittick and resumed from a four month break with a dominant victory over 1100 metres.

Portelli has enjoyed great success with Heels’ older brother Somepin Anypin, who was a $30,000 yearling purchase at Karaka. The four-year-old has won half of his 12 starts, including the Gr 3 Hawkesbury Gold Cup, and has recently had a couple of trial outings to fit him for his autumn campaign.

The siblings are by Pins out of the Centaine mare Ungaro, who has also produced the stakes winners Salsa (O’Reilly) and Rule Of Engagement-Evergreen (HK) (Danasinga) and the Group performer Charlie Bub (O’Reilly). Heels has two wins and two placings from her five career appearances with the only blemish in her form line the result of her losing her rider.
