Savabeel Mare Placed To Perfection
30 April 2012

Savabeel mare Placement continued her outstanding run of form this preparation with further success at Caulfield on Saturday. The WS-bred four-year-old has been the model performer and has returned a cheque in each of her previous appearances, including four victories.
Trained at Flemington by Danny O’Brien, Placement was a $A65,000 purchase out of the Matamata stud’s draft to the 2009 Sydney Easter Yearling Sale. She is out of the O’Reilly mare Lucida, who was a winner and is a three-quarter sister to the Gr 1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas runner-up Ambitious. They are out of Starcent who won twice at Gr 3 level in the Gold Trail and Lowland Stakes and also finished second in the Guineas.
Placement enjoyed a sound campaign as a spring three-year-old to ensure her future broodmare worth. She finished runner-up in both the Gr 2 Wakeful Stakes and the Listed Sportingbet Stakes and went on to place in the Gr 1 VRC Oaks.
