Pins’ son on the way to the top

Gifted WS-bred five-year-old Packing Pins is on a fast track to Group company in Hong Kong. The rising star won for the sixth time in nine appearances last night when he powered away with a class two event over 1400 metres at Sha Tin.

This was his 5th win in a row.

The Pins gelding returned after a three month spell to successfully resume last month and he had no trouble maintaining his perfect record this preparation.

Trained by Ricky Yui, Packing Pins was ridden for the first time by Zac Purton and they strolled clear to score by two and a quarter lengths.

Yui purchased the horse out of WS’s 2012 Premier Sale consignment for $160,000. He is a son of the Gr.3 winner Splashing Out and a brother to the Gr.2 winner Shopaholic and the stakes performer Spending and a family that features WS’s exciting new homebred stallion prospects Sacred Falls.
