Stayer crosses Tasman

Jimmy Hoffa has been sold and will do his future racing across the Tasman.
The Savabeel five-year-old won two races for part-owner and trainer Peter McKay, who said a lack of suitable opportunities had forced the sale.

“There aren’t enough staying options here for a horse like him. He went to Hastings the other day and ran on for fourth, but he couldn’t keep up early and he needs 2400 metres and further.”

Jimmy Hoffa will be trained by expatriate New Zealander Bevan Laming, who has stables in Queensland and Victoria.
