Tomorrowland shows his quality

Tomorrowland laid down a marker for the upcoming sprint features with a dynamic performance at Otaki this afternoon. The WS graduate put a competitive line-up to the sword in the Listed Levin Stakes to boost his Group One hopes.

“He needs to be ridden quietly and he was ridden beautifully by Craig (Grylls),” trainer Danica Guy said. The Fast ‘N’ Famous five-year-old trailed the leader to the turn and, once into the clear, he strode to the front 150 metres from home for a convincing victory.

“It was a perfect speed and the plan was to take a sit and it worked out well,” rider Craig Grylls said. “I got the split and he quickened up and put them away nicely.”

Tomorrowland has now won six of his 15 starts and with In Style, also by Fast ‘N’ Famous, will give Guy a strong hand in the feature sprints. The latter won the Gr 1 Railway Stakes earlier this year and she has recently returned after a brief stint in Melbourne.

An $8000 Select Sale purchase, Tomorrowland is out of the winning Pins mare Needled. She is a sister to the Gr 3 Cuddle Stakes winner Rhysess with their mother the Gr 3 Lowland Stakes winner Sahrhys.

Jess Greenfield awarded 2026 Mary-Lynne Ryan Young Achiever Award

On Saturday night, Jess Greenfield was awarded the loveracing.nz Mary-Lynne Ryan Young Achiever Award at the Property Brokers National Breeding Awards at Karapiro. When asked by Steve Davis what the future looked like for Jess, Greenfield humbly replied: “Just keep working away at Waikato Stud and see where we end up.”

Ocean Park Trans-Tasman Double

With Andrew Forsman’s 3yo Ocean Park filly Pine Leaf breaking her maiden by a widening four and a quarter-lengths in the last at Cambridge on Wednesday, celebrations continued as just ten minutes later it was the Chirs Waller trained Velaris who saluted at Canterbury with fellow Ocean Park runner I Park finishing a gallant third.
