Kiwi Karma becomes 6th WS-Bred Stakes Winner for Season

Talented WS & Trevor Luke-bred filly Kiwi Karma overcame an interrupted run to claim a Group Three victory in the Singapore Prestige Classic at Kranji last night. The WS graduate got into the clear late in the piece under Manoel Nunes and rounded off strongly for the fifth win of her 10-start career.

A daughter of Fast ‘N’ Famous and the One Cool Cat mare Miss Purrfection, is also uneaten in two appearances for Michael Clements after beginning her career with Laurie Laxon. “There was a lot of pace on her outside and Manoel did a good job to take a sit,” Clements said. “She was closing up on the rails round the home turn, but then she seemed to hit a flat spot.

“The other horse (A La Victory) suddenly hung in and I thought he would bump her, but luckily he went straight again and she got through. She fought on very bravely in the end. That was a terrific win for the owners and myself. She will now go for the first Leg of the Singapore Three-Year-Old Challenge in six weeks’ time and then we’ll see if she can go to the Guineas.”
