Boost For Karaka-Bound Colt

The family of a Pins colt (Lot 312) to be offered by WS during the 2013 Premier session at Karaka earned further honours in Melbourne yesterday. The youngster is a brother to the promising mare Genuine Spin who added a third victory at Moonee Valley yesterday.

Trained by Peter Moody who bought her out of the Matamata farm’s 2010 consignment for $65,000, Genuine Spin took significant benefit from a fifth palcing on her seasonal return to win convincingly under Luke Nolen and is now unbeaten in both starts over 1600 metres and has a career record of three wins and three placings from eight outings.

She is out of the unraced Quest For Fame mare Reputedly who is also the dam of the Gr 3 Victoria Handicap winner Stickpin (Pins). The family also boasts an international flavour with the appearance of North American black type winners Master Dreamer, In Defiance and Rebellious Dreamer on the pedigree page.
