Garry chittick inducted into hall of fame

Garry Chittick’s immense contribution to the New Zealand breeding and racing industries has been further acknowledged.

Already a five-time winner of the Breeder of the Year and a recipient of the Outstanding Contribution To Racing Award, he was last night inducted into the NZ Racing Hall of Fame at the gala dinner at the Skycity Hamilton.

Buoyed by the success of his stallion Centaine, Chittick who moved north in 1994 when he purchased Waikato Stud which has since evolved into one of the country’s elite thoroughbred nurseries.

Chittick has also made a significant contribution at an administrative level and he served on the NZ Racing Industry Board from 1994-2000, the last four years as its chairman.
