Spin Doctor aiming to defy odds

Spin Doctor will be at long odds in the Windsor Park and has to overcome a wide draw, but he is capable of a bold run. He carried 62.5kg when beaten at his last start and also needed the run, which was his first for seven weeks.

He is the equal highest-rated runner – with favourite Addictive Habit – having won 13 races and been Group One-placed at weight-for-age level. – NZ Racing Desk.

With Andrew Forsman’s 3yo Ocean Park filly Pine Leaf breaking her maiden by a widening four and a quarter-lengths in the last at Cambridge on Wednesday, celebrations continued as just ten minutes later it was the Chirs Waller trained Velaris who saluted at Canterbury with fellow Ocean Park runner I Park finishing a gallant third.
