Smart filly to join Waterhouse stable

Promising three-year-old Bohemian Lily will continue her racing career for a champion Sydney stable.

The Kevin Hickman-owned daughter of O’Reilly has made an encouraging start for Matamata trainer Lance Noble, who always knew his hold on the filly was a tenuous one.

“She’s going to Gai Waterhouse and she has always been promised to Gai,” Noble said.

“I was just lucky enough to have her for this long and she will be aimed toward Brisbane.”

Bohemian Lily beat the Gr.1 TV3 New Zealand Derby contender McQueen in her maiden victory at Te Rapa in her fourth appearance in November before she took on the best fillies.

She finished a solid fifth in the Gr.3 Eulogy Stakes and was then fourth in the Gr.2 Royal Stakes on New Year’s Day.

“She’s a big filly and she will only continue to improve as she strengthens,” Noble said.
