Well-Bred Infuse Justifies Support

The money was right on the mark for Infuse in the closing event on Saturday’s Flemington card. The highly-promising son of Pins was the target of solid support, despite racing out of his grade, but the WS-bred and sold three-year-old turned in a convincing display.

The strapping gelding was left in front a long way from home but had no trouble holding all challenges at bay to win with authority. Trained by Robert Hickmott for the Williams family, he was the only ride of the day for Steven King who predicted a bright future for Infuse.

He was sold at the 2010 Sydney Easter Sale by the Matamata farm for $A90,000 and is out of the Defensive Play mare Fiaba. She was bred and raced by Garry Chittick and won six races and was twice stakes placed. Infuse is yet another winning member of the family of Gr 1 Salinger Stakes and Goodwood Handicap winner Glamour Puss whose Pins colt (Lot 216) will be offered by WS during the Premier Sale at Karaka.
