WS sires happy at the valley
23 March 2015
WS stallion dominated the programme at Happy Valley in Hong Kong on Wednesday. Pins, Savabeel and O’Reilly were all represented by winners as well as the former farm resident Fast ‘N’ Famous.
Home-bred Savvy Nature opened his account for trainer John Moore following the Savabeel gelding’s successful tenure in Australia with John O’Shea. He was successful at Group Two and Three level in Sydney and has now added a further win at Happy Valley after scoring over 1800 metres for champion rider Joao Moreira.
Pins’ son Kokoda, a winner in New Zealand for Kevin Gray, struck a first blow in Hong Kong for Manfred Man, who also produced the Fast ‘N’ Famous gelding Triumphant Dragon for a winning double on the night. Strong Foundation, an O’Reilly five-year-old formerly with Tony Pike, completed an excellent evening for WS when he won for Caspar Fownes.
