Johnson booked for Sound Proposition
16 February 2015
Danielle Johnson will ride the Lance O’Sullivan and Andrew Scott-trained Sound Proposition in this month’s Gr.1 TV3 New Zealand Derby (2400m) at Ellerslie.
Savabeel three-year-old Sound Proposition was an eye-catching sixth to Mongolian Khan in the Gr.2 Avondale Guineas on Saturday to become the TAB’s $14 fifth favourite for the Classic.
Johnson had ridden Rockfast into seventh place in the Avondale Guineas, though that horse has since been withdrawn from the Derby.
Mark Du Plessis has been engaged for Avondale Guineas runner-up Prima for the Derby, according to The Informant, though a late entry payment would need to be made by next Tuesday.
