More Success For Prolific WS Family
One of Waikato’s most prolific families provided a timely reminder of its potency on Friday, when the veteran performer Zinly (NZ) (Danasinga) was successful at Kranji.
The eight-year-old gave age and a beating to his rivals over 1200 metres for the ninth victory of his career.
Sold by the Matamata farm at Karaka in 2004 for $65,000, Zinly is out of the Centaine mare La Cent (NZ). She is a sister to ‘Escada (NZ), who has been an outstanding producer as the dam of Gr 1 winners Glamour Puss (NZ) (Salinger Stakes, Goodwood Handicap) and Vision And Power (NZ) (Doncaster Handicap, George Ryder Stakes), the Gr 2 winner Rare Insight (NZ) (Stan Fox Stakes) and the multiple Listed winner Escadaire (NZ) (Miss Andretti Stakes, Belmont Newmarket).
O’Reilly’s son – the former champion Singapore sprinter, Arenti (NZ) (Lion City Cup, Three Rings Trophy, Jumbo Jet Trophy) and his Pins half-sisters – Crepe De Chine (Listed Century Stakes, Lion Red Plate) and Glam Slam (Listed Creswick Stakes) – are also part of this family.
Breeders will be given the opportunity to tap into this successful family shortly courtesy of a Pin’s 3YO half-sister to Zinly (NZ) named Pinderella (NZ). She will be offered as lot 707 by Waikato Stud at upcoming National Weanling and Broodmare Sale and is scheduled to go through the Karaka arena as a Broodmare prospect on Wednesday May 4.
