Packing Pins edged closer to a stakes start in Hong Kong when he maintained his winning run at Sha Tin last night. The WS homebred returned another commanding performance to score with ease over 1400 metres for trainer Ricky Yui and rider Joao Moreira.
The five-year-old son of Pins completed a hat-trick in the autumn before he was put aside. With the benefit of a barrier trial, the gelding was forward to resume and stretch his winning sequence to four with an overall record of five victories and two placing from eight appearances.
Purchased by Yui out of WS’s 2012 Premier Sale consignment for $160,000, Packing Pins is a brother to the Gr 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes winner Shopaholic. Their dam is the Gr 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes winner Splashing Out who is closely related to exciting new WS stallion Sacred Falls.
