WS-Bred A Runaway Victor

Somepin Anypin’s purple patch of form continued in Sydney today when the WS-bred and sold three-year-old streeted his Rosehill opposition. The son of Pins is prepared at Warwick Farm by Gary Portelli and jockey Jim Cassidy enjoyed the easiest of rides aboard the progressive gelding.

The trip had previously combined for a seven and a-half length victory on the track last month and while today’s margin was not as extravagant it was accomplished with ease. Cassidy led from barrier rise and a slap across the chestnut’s shoulder in the straight was all that was required to post another success – the third of Somepin Anypin’s six-start career.

He is a half-brother to the Listed winners and Gr 1 performers Salsa and Rule Of Engagement-Evergreen (Hong Kong) while Charlie Bub, O’Crikey and Darn Good Singa have also been successful. Their dam Ungaro (Centaine) is a sister to the Gr 1 Goodwood Handicap winner Centisle and a half-sister to the Gr 2 Sunline Jubilee Stakes and Marsh Classic (twice) winner Sylvaner. Somepin Anypin was bought out of WS’s 2009 Premier Sale draft to Karaka in 2009 for $30,000 by New South Wales-based agent Vin Cox.
