Pins Colt In Spotlight
27 December 2011
A Pins colt in WS’s 2012 Premier Sale draft to Karaka received a valuable boost at Ellerslie on Boxing Day. The youngster’s older half-sister Mosh Pit was an impressive winner of the opening event with a storming finish to score at her third appearance.
By former stud resident Scaredee Cat, the filly was bred by Garry Chittick and sold to Matamata trainer Graham Richardson for $15,000 during the Select Sale last year. She is out of the unraced Danasinga mare Ten Guitars who is a half-sister to the Gr 2 TJ Smith Stakes, QTC Cup and Premiere Stakes winner Century Kid (Centaine). It is also the family of Gr 3 Tressady Stakes winner Breezy (Pins) and Neo Star (Centaine) who was a Gr 3 winner in South Africa and also placed at Gr 1 level.
Mosh Pit had finished an unlucky fourth when opening her current preparation at Rotorua earlier this month. She was settled well back in the field today by Vinnie Colgan and they came with an undeniable finish to win going away.
