War Affair brilliant resuming

New Zealand bred galloper War Affair relished the genuine tempo of $S500,000 Lion City Gold Cup (1200m)recently in Singapore, producing a devastating turn of foot to swamp his rivals late.

Resuming from a five-month break, the Alwin Tan-trained son of O’Reilly won at domestic Group One level for the fourth time and completed the 1200m on the short course in 1:09.21 seconds.

The reigning Singapore Horse of the Year had not won first-up from a break previously and looks the horse to beat in the Singapore Four-Year-Old Challenge.

The Four-Year-Old Challenge kicks off with the Gr. 2 Stewards’ Cup (1400m) on May 31, before following up with the Gr. 1 Patron’s Bowl (1600m) on June 21 and the Gr.1 Emirates Singapore Derby (2000m) on July 12.
