Pinzaara completes WS treble

Course specialist Pinzaara ensured WS a three meeting feature race haul when she won the open sprint at Ellerslie this afternoon. Farm graduates Maritimo and Wolfwhistle had earlier claimed Listed events at Trentham and Riccarton respectively to set up another successful day for the Matamata operation.

A daughter of Pins, Pinzaara led all of the way to account for the Group One winner Albany Reunion and the fifth win of her career. The six-year-old has a special affinity with the Auckland track with three past successes and five placings at northern headquarters.

Bred by Garry Chittick, she is out of the Danasinga mare Barzar Babe. She is a half-sister to the dual Gr 3 Birthday Cup winner Skybeau, who also ran third in a Melbourne Cup. The Gr 1 Turnbull Stakes winner Devil’s Moon is another headline act in Pinzaara’s pedigree.
