Natsinga Plays Another Winning Tune

Michael Manson’s pre-race confidence in Natsinga’s Tauranga prospects were dampened by the rain but the Ruakaka trainer’s fears were unfounded. The WS-bred six-year-old ploughed through the heavy conditions to crush his rivals in the Team Welleans BOP Cup.

“Once he’s in form he holds it but I was a bit worried by the track,” Manson said. “It was a beautiful ride by Reese (Jones).” Natsinga was on the pace all the way and after taking control at the top of the straight he dashed away to post the sixth win of his career and took his stake-earnings beyond $120,000. “We might have a look at the Te Aroha Cup with now,” Manson said.

By former WS resident Danasinga, Natsinga is out of the dual Gr 3 winning Racing Is Fun mare Nat The Brat (Cornwall Handicap, Rotorua Cup) and is a half-brother to three winners including the stakes-placed Vera Pro Gratis and the dam of the Listed Wanganui Guineas winner Takeanotherchance (No Excuse Needed). It is also the family of the four-time Gr 1 winner Vite Cheval (Doncaster Handicap, Futurity Stakes, All-Aged Stakes, Ellerslie Sires’ Produece Stakes).
