Trainers to raise bar for Princefamous
6 March 2015
Peter and Paul Snowden will raise their sights with Princefamous after he maintained his unbeaten record this week. Successful on debut in a Gosford maiden last month, he stepped up a grade at Canterbury to continue on his winning way.
The three-year-old WS graduate convincingly beat the older horses to put himself in line for a Sydney carnival start. “He’s thriving at home and we can definitely step it up another notch now,” Peter Snowden said. “He’s building his confidence and doing really well. We will have a look at what’s around, but a stakes race during the carnival is on the cards.”
He has been ridden in both his starts by Hugh Bowman, who has been suitably impressed with the gelding’s progression. “I wasn’t convinced he’d run a strong 1300 but he relaxed for me in front, what that means is that he will get 1400 and that opens plenty of options,” he said.
Princefamous is a son of former stud resident Fast ‘N’ Famous and was a $75,000 yearling at Karaka in 2013. He is out of the O’Reilly mare Vesuvia, who is from the acclaimed Group One family of Glamour Puss and Vision And Power.
