Savabeel’s daughter a black type filly in waiting

It would seem just a matter of time and finding a suitable track for the exciting WS home-bred three-year-old Love Affair to make her mark at stakes level. The powerful daughter of Savabeel again showed her quality at Te Rapa when she made short work of her age group rivals in Saturday’s Tower Insurance Brokers 1400.
“She’ll go a long way and she’s definitely got black type ability,” said Andrew Forsman, who trains the filly with Murray Baker. “She’s got quite a big action so she will need reasonable ground.”
Bred and raced by Racing Hall of Famer Garry Chittick, Love Affair has now won three of her four starts with the only blemish coming at Matamata where she was unplaced off a wide run. A post-race veterinary check also revealed a poor rate of recovery with elevated heart and respiration rates. “She’s very smart and always showed us a lot of ability,” Forsman said. “She’s only been beaten once and that wasn’t her fault.”
Love Affair settled toward the back of the field, but once rider Opie Bosson made his move she ambled to the front 300 metres from home. “She’s a lovely, big filly and she’s got plenty of gears,” he said. “I didn’t want to move on her too early and I had a lap full of horse turning for home.”
She is out of the unraced O’Reilly mare Romancing, She is a half-sister to the Gr 3 Hawkesbury Gold Cup winner Somepin Anypin (Pins).
