Pins filly claims major honours
Emily Margaret produced a gallant display to become the latest in a long line of black type winners for Pins.
She made much of the running at Riccarton today and kicked on gallantly to win the Listed Canterbury Belle Stakes.
The three-year-old answered every call from Jasmine Fawcett to hand the 25-year-old her first stakes success.
Emily Margaret is by the former fine race mare Seven Schillings, a daughter of O’Reilly.
She won the Gr. 3 Taranaki 2YO Classic and finished runner-up in the Gr.1 Diamond Stakes. It is also the family of the multiple Group One winner Avedon.
Emily Margaret was a $55,000 Karaka purchase for part-owner Roger Findlay from Trelawney Stud.
