Magnificent seven for Savabeel

The Waikato Stud’s resident’s son The Chosen One led the charge with a stunning victory in the Gr.3 Frank Packer Plate at Randwick.
Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman’s regally-bred colt is now spelling ahead of a Melbourne spring carnival campaign.
The roll continued across the Tasman with the Bryce Heys-trained Subban continuing his winning habit.
The four-year-old now has five victories from 11 appearances, the latest on the Kensington track at Randwick.
Bred by the stud and part-owned by Mark Chittick, he is a grandson of the multiple Group One winner Glamour Puss.
Savabeel’s son Savaheat, trained by Mick Price, was successful for the third time when he scored over 1800 metres at Sandown.
And Chris Waller looks to have a progressive filly in Lady Cuvee, her win at Kembla Grange was her second from just eight appearances.
Completing the Australian haul was Jennibeel, who showed staying potential when successful for the first time over 2000 metres at Wangaratta.
At home, Stephen Marsh’s gifted filly Santa Catarina strolled to victory at Ellerslie last weekend.
She will be on the quick back-up in Saturday’s Gr.3 Cambridge Breeders’ Stakes in a bid to complete a hat-trick of wins.
