Oaks hope boost classic chances
Well-related Ocean Park filly Savigne has added winning momentum to her Gr.1 Queensland Oaks bid.
The filly is on a path toward the classic and at Canterbury Park today she boosted her prospects.
Trained by Chris Waller, she beat her older rivals over 1900 metres in the hands of Kerrin McEvoy.
Savigne was a $200,000 Karaka purchase by successful agent Guy Mulcaster out of Wentwood Grange’s draft.
She is a half-sister to the dual Group One winner Kermadec and their dam Hy Fuji has a 100 per cent record at stud.
Hy Fuji won up to 2400 metres and hails from a well-performed black type family.
It includes the Gr.3 Liverpool City Cup winner Triple Elegance, who also twice placed at Group One level.
