Good rain hitting the farm at the moment, and it is well needed going into winter.

Fantastic to witness another great win for the Archers and Pike Racing with The Bostonian again last week. David has raced some fantastic horses and purchased a beautiful Sacred Falls colt off us this year, I trust he will follow on the Archer racing legacy.

Oaks weekend in Queensland this weekend and we are all really excited to hear as I write that our own ‘On the White Turf’ has made the field and the Waikato Stud colours will make the track tomorrow. All the best to Richard Freedman and the team involved.

Waikato Stud has a big influence on the Oaks field with Pinmedown (Pins) and Savabeel with two representatives and an extra on the ballot, and last start impressive Ocean Park winner in Savigne lining up. Ocean Park, the sire of Another Dollar, who missed the call by the shortest of margins last year, maybe will go one better!

It’s been a massive week in the sales ring at the Magic Millions sale, watching the results coming from there and the money that is changing hands is a great reminder of the ‘ups’ of our game and I’m very pleased that we can breed some of our own beautiful fillies/broodmares and don’t have to go out and buy them all!!

Well done to Coolmore for purchasing Savvy Coup. What a fantastic story and an incredible result through her career so far, bred by WS, purchased by Jim Bruford, raced by the Brufords and Couplands, trained by the Pitmans. The winner of two Group Ones. Results we all love, especially for these wonderful people.

Good luck to all breeders and owners tomorrow, and a special mention to the team at Wentwood Grange, having raised the track record-breaking Kolding (Ocean Park) and bred Oaks runner Savigne (Ocean Park). I think we’ll have a reason to celebrate next Wednesday boys!!

Have fun and good luck.

Mark.
