Hanger returns to winning ways
Part-owned WS-bred O’Reilly gelding Hanger bounced back to his best at Ruakaka on Saturday with a hard-fought victory.
It was the fourth win of the Roger James and Robert Wellwood-trained gelding’s career.
Hanger has also been placed at black type level when runner-up in the Gr.3 Cambridge Breeders’ Stakes and third in the Listed Matamata Slipper.
He is a son of the Savabeel mare Do Ra Mi, who won three races including the Gr.2 Kewney Stakes.
She is a half-sister to the Gr.1 Australasian Oaks winner Marju Snip and to the Listed Hong Kong Derby Trial winner Unique Jewellery.
It is also the family of the multiple stakes winners Kingdoms and Billion Win.
