Mark’s Mail – 2 August, 2019

The 1st of August always brings great excitement and expectations for a whole new opportunity for anybody involved with a thoroughbred.
What a way to conclude last season, to breed 3 stakes winners across 3 countries as the curtain closed on another racing year, we are incredibly proud of.
The interesting facts on those recent stakes winners for all of us on the farm, Sai Fah (Rios) sold as a weanling for $6000 NZD, a two-year-old stakes winner in NZ.
Seaway (Ocean Park) purchased as a yearling for $210k NZD from Karaka, now a stakes winner in the tough Sydney arena.
Rellson/Sacred Capital (O’Reilly) winner of the Macau Derby, a $580k NZD purchase from the New Zealand Ready to Run Sale.
I love the diversity that we are able to breed and the different markets we sell at, and our product performs worldwide.
We are stepping into the 19/20 season so excited to follow and be involved with anything Waikato Stud that has gone from our pasture to the winning post.
We are a little late in an annual break to the spelling paddock for the W@W so that is going to take place now, please bear with us and everything Waikato Stud will be back to you as soon as possible.
Have a great one (everything breeding & racing).
Mark
