Savabeel colt stars
Well-related colt Mongolian Heaven posted first winning strike of his career when he led all the way at Te Rapa.
The Savabeel three-year-old gave a determined display as he was headed in the straight and fought back determinedly.
Trained by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, he was originally sold at Karaka by Waikato Stud for $200,000.
He then made $525,000 at the Ready to Run Sale and is raced by the Inner Mongolian Horse Rider Industry and Hope Bloodstock.
“He was a little bit slow and had to be punched along to lead, he did a bit of work so it’s a fair effort,” Forsman said.
“We’ll probably get him over ground pretty quickly. He’s a colt and holds his condition well.”
Mongolian Heaven is a brother to the dual Group One winner Costume.
Their dam is the O’Reilly mare Disguised and the family of the Gr.3 Taranaki Breeders’ Stakes winner Kisses.
