Sacred Falls 3YO strikes at second time of asking
The well-related Live For Your Love ran up to his pedigree for a decisive victory at Avondale on Friday.
The Waikato Stud graduate was making just her second appearance and was untested to breakthrough over 1200 metres.
“The inside barrier draw was a big help, especially for a front-running horse,” trainer Jenna Mahoney said.
“He always showed a lot of ability, but he’s quite chunky and takes a fair bit of work.”
The three-year-old son of the late Sacred Falls jumped straight to the lead under Samantha Collett and controlled the race thereafter.
“It worked out perfectly and I didn’t have to bustle him,” said Collett of the Ms V Tang owned galloper.
“It gave me time to get him into his rhythm, for his size, he’s got quite a big action.”
Live For Your Love was a $110,000 Karaka purchase by the Celebration Syndicate and is out of the Listed Creswick Stakes winner Glam Slam.
The Pins mare is a sister to the Gr.3 Lion Red Plate winner Crepe De Chine.
It is most significantly the Waikato Stud family of multiple Group One winners Glamour Puss and Vision And Power.
