Mare strikes for new stable
The well-related Ocean Park five-year-old Pink Graffiti hasn’t taken long to make an impact from her new quarters.
The Waikato Stud-bred and raced mare won twice for Tony Pike before relocating to the stable of New Zealand equestrian representative Bryce Newman at Bulls.
Pink Graffiti finished fourth earlier this month at Awapuni before a successful return today with a hollow victory at the expense of her Rating 65 opposition.
Newman had been expecting a bold performance and said there was further improvement to come.
“She came down to me in great order, I’ve been very happy with her. She’ll go to Hawke’s Bay in 10 days’ time and that’s when she’ll really be at her very best,” he said.
Pink Graffiti is a half-sister to the dual Group 1 winner Glamour Puss and Vision And Power and the stakes winners Escadaire and Rare Insight, dam of the G2 Breeders’ Classic winner Steps In Time.
Also featuring close in the pedigree are the stakes winners Acting, Pretty To Sea and Bonny O’Reilly as well as the South African Group 3 winner Danziga.
