Success for star mare

I Do was an outstanding race mare for Waikato Stud as the G1 Makfi Challenge Stakes winner and she’s continuing the grand start she’s made to her broodmare career.

Her first foal is Savabeel’s son Kiss The Bride, whose latest success at Randwick was his fifth from 18 starts and a further nine placings serves to emphasise his genuine nature.

He is trained at Warwick Farm by Bjorn Baker and his stake earnings have now topped AU$200,000 with the promise of more to come and he looks more than capable of adding black type to his record.

Kiss The Bride was bought out of Waikato Stud’s draft at Karaka for $200,000 by Baker and Blandford Bloodstock. I Do has also produced three more foals to Savabeel and a colt by Tivaci.

She is a half-sister to the stakes winner Iggy Pop, also a multiple black type placegetter, and they are out of the G3 New Zealand St Leger winner Freequent and also the family of Court Ruler, who was successful in the G1 Queensland Derby.
