Rising star strikes again
The well-related Kiss The Bride is fashioning a smart record that the model professional further boosted at Randwick this afternoon.
The son of Savabeel and the G1 Makfi Challenge Stakes winner I Do was successful over 2400 metres for the sixth win of his 18-start career. A further nine placings highlights his genuine nature.
“He’s really going well and thriving and his work during the week was outstanding, I was confident. He really is a very progressive horse,” trainer Bjorn Baker said.
The five-year-old was bred by Waikato Stud and Allan Sharrock, who prepared I Do, and sold at Karaka in 2017 to Baker and Blandford Bloodstock for NZ$200,000.
Kiss The Bride was guided by Josh Parr, who was having just his second ride back following a serious injury, and he gave the gelding a sweet run on the fence behind the leader.
When the gap appeared in the straight they responded positively to charge to the front 100 metres off the post for a stylish victory.
“It’s terrific and I felt so energised when I turned up at Randwick, it’s my favourite racecourse by a long way. I was very fortunate to get the ride on Kiss The Bride and he showed me the way around,” Parr said.
