Filly with a bright future
Trainer David Brideoake and the Ottobre family can look confidently to the future with Waikato Stud graduate Peskijen, a stylish debut winner at Sale this afternoon.
Brideoake had the daughter of the late Sacred Falls forward to open her career and she did so dominantly with victory over 1200 metres in the hands of Ethan Brown.
The 3-year-old was purchased out of the premier Matamata farm’s draft at the New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sale at Karaka in 2019 for $220,000. The ticket was signed for by the Ottobre family’s Cape Schanck Stud.
Peskijen is out of the Listed Northland Breeders’ Stakes winner Queen Sabeel, who has now produced three winners and the stakes performer Sagunto.
Queen Sabeel, a Savabeel mare, is a sister to the four-time winner and Group 3 performer Vandancer and the family of the G2 Tourist Minister’s Cup winner Gypsy Rogue, who also placed twice at Group 1 level.
