Winning association continues

The Go Racing syndication company’s success with Waikato Stud broodmare Halloween continued at Matamata this afternoon.

Albert Bosman’s colours were carried to success by Craig Grylls, who produced a heady front-running ride aboard Savabeel’s son Hasabro to account for the Rating 74 sprinters.

Hasabro is the latest of four winners for the Encosta De Lago mare Halloween and was bought out of the Matamata farm’s New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale draft for $220,000.

The previous year, Go Racing had gone to $110,000 to secure Hasabro’s sister and as Hasahalo she went on to win the G1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas.

Waikato Stud has retained an ownership interest in their half-sister All Saint’s Eve, a daughter of Sacred Falls whose four victories from John O’Shea’s stable includes the G3 Tibbie S.

They all hail from the well-performed family of Savvy Nature, a son of Savabeel who won the G2 Moonee Valley Vase while his brother Addictive Nature was successful in the G3 Ming Dynasty.

Halloween’s Savabeel colt was purchased at Karaka last year by Henry Dwyer Racing for $230,0
