Bright future tipped for Sacred Falls 3YO

Trainer and part-owner Andrew Carston believes there is plenty of upside to the lightly-tried Dettifoss, a son of Sacred Falls who has broken his maiden in fine style.
The Waikato Stud graduate was making his fifth appearance yesterday at Ashburton where he coasted to an effortless 6.5l victory.
“I think Dettifoss is a pretty smart horse. He was unlucky last start, so we went into with a fair bit of confidence and he won well,” Carston said.
“He is still mentally fragile. He will only improve going into his 4-year-old year.”
A half-brother to two winners, Dettifoss is out of the multiple winner and stakes performer Zamfir, who is a half-sister to the dual Group 3 winner Society Beau and the Listed Waikato Sprint winner Sandblaster.
Zamfir is a daughter of the two-time Australian Group 2 winner Society Bay, who was also runner-up in the G1 Stradbroke H.
Up close in the pedigree is the G1 Telegraph H. winner Irish Fling, O’Reilly’s daughter Final Destination, who won twice at Group 1 level in New Zealand and was a Group 2 winner in North America, and Stradbroke winner Tyzone.
