Good track brings best out of WS graduate

Wairere Falls (Martin King/Sportpix)

The Waikato Stud-bred and sold Wairere Falls showed his appreciation this afternoon of a Good 4
surface at Randwick where the son of Savabeel destroyed his Benchmark 78 opposition.

Trained by Chris Waller, the rising 5-year-old travelled easily for jockey James McDonald in fourth
spot and one off the fence before peeling three wide into the straight.

Wairere Falls ambled to the front 300 metres from home and then careered away under a soft ride
to score by 2.6l and the fourth victory of his 20-start career. A further 11 placings emphasises his
genuine racing nature.

He was bought out of Waikato Stud’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale by
Albert Bosma’s Go Racing for $280,000.

Wairere Falls is a half-brother to the four-time Group 1 winner and late sire Sacred Falls with their
dam Iguazu’s Girl a half-sister to the G3 Thoroughbred Club S. winner Splashing Out. She is the dam
of the Group 2 winners Splurge and Shopaholic.
