Happy day on multiple fronts for stud
Happy Daily added to a stellar day for Waikato Stud when he opened his winning account over 1400 metres at Sha Tin on Saturday evening.
The Peter Ho-trained son of Pins was successful off the back of two minor placings when he triumphed in the hands of Karis Teetan.
Happy Daily was purchased out of Waikato Stud’s draft at the 2019 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale for $260,000 by Ho and is a half-brother to Andalus, who recently placed on debut in the G2 Wakefield Challenge S.
They are out of the Savabeel mare Genius, successful four times and from the family of the G1 CF Orr S. winner Manuel, and she has an Ocean Park yearling and paid a return visit to the stallion this year.
Waikato Stud enjoyed a satisfying day at Te Rapa on Saturday afternoon with graduates Outfit, who is raced by all the staff at the Matamata nursery, and Pin Me Up successful while Wewillrock, who is part-owned by Mark Chittick, also won.
Outfit is a daughter of resident sire Tivaci, whose daughter Kana was an impressive debut winner at Awapuni where the Waikato Stud-bred and sold Lincoln Star also struck a winning blow.
