Well-bred Ideal lives up to name

The nursery and its co-breeder, part-owner and trainer Allan Sharrock had their patience rewarded at Otaki with the Savabeel mare Ideal, who scored a hollow victory over 1400 metres.

Ideal had finished runner-up on the course in January in her only other appearance and is a daughter of the G1 Makfi Challenge S. winner I Do.
She is a half-sister by No Excuse Needed to the Listed Queensland Cup winner Iggi Pop and the family of the G1 Queensland Derby winner Court Ruler.
I Do has also produced an unraced Savabeel 3-year-old named Do I, a juvenile Savabeel filly and last year delivered a filly by Super Seth before she returned to the Dundeel stallion.
