Tivaci filly tops trade at Karaka

Young Waikato Stud stallion Tivaci produced the headline act as New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale concluded at Karaka on Saturday afternoon.
His daughter, Lot 1063, set the auction ring alight when presented by Beckam Equine and the filly changed hands for $250,000 and the highest-priced youngster sold during Book 2.
From a string black-type family, the youngster was knocked down to Cambridge trainers Roger James and Robert Wellwood, Andrew Williams Bloodstock and Bevan Smith Bloodstock.
“She was an absolute stand-out filly. The three of us looked at her and a good owner of theirs had come on board to help secure her,” Wellwood said.
“We all had grins on our faces and couldn’t believe such a nice filly was catalogued today. We can’t wait to get this filly home and into the stable, because she is truly a star.”
The filly is out of the Pins mare Short Tale, who won on two occasions, and she is a three-quarter sister to the multiple stakes winner All In Vogue.
Also featuring on the pedigree page is the G1 Jarden lime winner Fun On The Run, whose daughter Tall Poppy was successful three times at the elite level.
