Kinloch returns in blaze of glory

Kinloch successfully returned to competition following a break to remain on target for another major pay day.

The son of I Am Invincible is part-owned by Waikato Stud and was a smart first-up winner at Gosford over 1200 metres on Saturday afternoon with his main aim next month’s A$500,000 Provincial Final at Newcastle.

Trained by Kris Lees, the 4-year-old was resuming after a four-month break and thundered home under apprentice Dylan Gibbons to win his fourth race from 12 appearances.

Kinloch was bred by James Chapman’s Jamieson Park and is raced by the Matamata farm with a number of partners including the vendor, Jomara Bloodstock, Lib Petagna and bloodstock agent Bruce Perry, who signed the ticket at Karaka for $300,000.

He is a son of the More Than Ready mare More Beautiful, who won five races, and she is a half-sister to the G1 WATC Derby winner Grand Journey and the family of the G1 Galaxy H. winner Griante.
