Tommy turns on winning show

Turn It Up Tommy gained an overdue victory when he was successful at Kilmore on Thursday.

The Waikato Stud-bred and sold son of farm resident Tivaci posted the third success of his career and first since last November when he produced a determined display over 2000 metres.

Trained by co-owner Denis Pagan, Turn It Up Tommy lobbed along in midfield and one off the fence before he was urged forward with 700 metres to run by rider Will Gordon.

They swung widest into the straight and came with a sustained finish to land the thick end of the
prize.

Turn It Up Tommy was originally purchased by Ohukia Lodge and Huntingdale Lodge at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $50,000 and then made A$80,000 at the Inglis Ready to Race Sale.

He is a half-brother to the G3 Wellington S. winner Zee Falls with their dam the Zabeel mare Zelitist, whose half-brother Warhorse won the G1 Diamond S. to secure champion juvenile honours.

In foal to Super Seth, Zelitist has an unraced two-year-old filly by Sacred Falls named The Infinity and her Tivaci yearling colt was bought by Busuttin Racing at Karaka this year for $110,000.
