October completes winning hat-trick

Ocean Park four-year-old October is making the most of his limited racing opportunities in
Singapore.
He has been in imperious form since returning from a break and on Sunday evening at
Kranji, which will close its door at the end of next month, completed a hat-trick of wins.
Unbeaten this preparation, the Jason Ong-trained Waikato Stud graduate was partnered by
regular rider Bruno Queiroz in his most recent success over 1400 metres.
Sold on behalf of the Matamata farm by Ohukia Lodge at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready
to Run Sale for $60,000, October is the first foal of the well-related O’Reilly mare Oh So
Chilled.
He is a half-brother to the Listed Rowley Mile winner and multiple Group placegetter
Savacool.
Their dam is a half-sister to the Listed Red Roses Stakes winner The Big Chill, who was also
Group 1 placed in the Manikato Stakes and Goodwood Handicap.
Another well-performed member of the family is the dual Group 2 winner Coldplay.
Oh So Chilled’s daughter of Super Seth, named Frosty Girl, was sold to Chris Waller Racing
and Mulcaster Bloodstock at Karaka last year for $150,000 and the mare due to foal to
Savabeel after producing a filly in 2023 by the multiple champion stallion.
