Super result in Hong Kong

Super Seth Waikato Stud Stallion

Super Seth’s influence continues to grow with the young sire now on the board in Hong Kong.

The Waikato Stud resident broke new ground when his well-related son Patch Of Cosmo capped off the encouraging start he has made to his career with a breakthrough success at Sha Tin on Sunday evening.

The three-year-old had finished in behind the major players in all three of previous starts before a break and he returned on a winning note over 1200 metres for trainer Manfred Man and jockey Luke Ferraris.

Bred by Waikato Stud, Patch Of Cosmo was purchased by Richard Racing at last year’s New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale and then realised $230,000 when offered by Riversley Park at the Ready to Run Sale.

He is the first foal of the Savabeel mare Thee whose dam, the dual stakes winner Thy is a three-quarter sister to the two-time Group 1 winner The Jewel and a half-sister to the G1 1000 Guineas winner La Diosa.

Thee’s Super Seth colt sold to agent John Foote for $170,000 at Karaka earlier this year and the mare has an Ardrossan yearling colt and is due to foal again to the son of Redoute’s Choice.
