Agent’s Ability No Secret
18 October 2012
Agent continued his hot run of form this preparation with further success at yesterday’s Canterbury meeting. The lightly-tried WS-bred and sold five-year-old completed a winning double for jockey Corey Brown when they proved slick for their rivals over 1100 metres.
A son of Pins, Agent is trained at Rosehill by John Hawkes and sons Michael and Wayne and was a $60,000 Premier Sale buy in 2009. He is out of the Danasinga mare Go Our Dana, whose Savabeel colt went to Cambridge agent Michael Wallace and Singapore trainer Michael Freedman for $170,000 at Karaka earlier this year, and is closely related to the multiple winner and stakes performer Pinmdown (Pins).
Agent has returned this campaign in great order for Team Hawkes. He was runner-up when resuming and then went one better at Gosford before a further two placings preceded yesterday’s victory.
