Ashburn Lane Bounces Back To Best
23 January 2012
Strapping Pins six-year-old Ashburn Lane turned his form around with a game victory at Trentham today. The WS-bred and sold sprinter had been below par this campaign, much to the frustration of his part-owner and trainer Bryce Newman.
“To be honest I’m not sure where he’s been at his last few starts, but he fought pretty hard this time.” the well-known equestrian identity said. He purchased Ashburn Lane for $40,000 out of WS’s Select Sale consignment in 2007.
He is out of the winning Centaine mare Fontaine who was also Gr 3 placed in the Desert Gold Stakes. Gr 2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes winner Kapsdan and the dual Australian black-type winner Wyndam Glory are other feature names in the pedigree.
