Boost For Karaka-Bound O’Reilly Colt

An impressive young O’Reilly colt to be offered by WS during the Premier Sale at Karaka next year received a significant pedigree update in Australia yesterday. He is a son of the Zabeel mare Hooked on A Feeling whose half-brother High On Believing was successful at Eagle Farm.

Trained by John Wallace on the Gold Coast, the Pins three-year-old had weighed in three times from his previous four appearances and was a dominant winner over 1000 metres by a length and a-half. Bred by WS and a $A220,000 yearling at the 2010 Magic Millions Sale, his dam is the Danasinga mare Ugachaka who was the dual Gr 2 winner of the Edward Manifold and Queen of the Turf Stakes in Sydney.

Ugachaka, who safely delivered a chestnut colt by Pins last week at the farm, is a daughter of the Group-performed Bolshoi Star and a half-sister to the Gr 3 Manawatu Challenge Stakes winner Country Rose. Gr 1 Singapore Derby winner Bocelli also hails from this successful family
