Centaine mare a beauty
9 December 2013
Beyond made a strong impression during her racing days and she has continued that trend into her breeding career. The WS mare was the winner of four of her nine starts for owner-breeder Garry Chittick and her first foal Eternity (Pins) has already won twice from 10 appearances.
The second foal of the daughter of Centaine is Eternity’s three-year-old sister Far Fetched, who carried the farm’s colours to a debut victory at Waipukurau this afternoon. Prepared by John Bary, the filly had given a hint of her ability with two trial placings.
WS will also be offering a Savabeel colt out of Beyond during the Premier session at Karaka in 2014. The family includes the Bary-trained Gr 3 Taranaki Breeders’ Stakes winner No Excuse Maggie (No Excuse Needed) and Saturday’s Gr 1 Captain Cook Stakes placegetter Brave Centaur (O’Reilly).
The Matamata farm’s colours were also carried into second placing at Waipukurau by the Pins mare Showstopper and the following event was taken out by WS graduate Miss Rhythmic. Trainer by owner Tom Perry, the O’Reilly filly is out of the Keeper mare Gymnast and a grand-daughter of the Gr 1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas winner Olga’s Pal.
