Dream Result For Pins Mare
29 August 2011
Shandream added another string to her bow when she successfully mastered a metric mile at Tauranga on Saturday. The well-related daughter of Pins opened her account over more ground to continue her rise through the grades for Pukekohe trainer Richard Collett.
The four-year-old was allowed to stride to the front by Leith Innes and she fought valiantly to the post to record the third victory of her 11-start career that has also yielded a further six placings. She is a daughter of the Centaine mare Pyjamas, an unraced sister the multiple stakes winner Catainer, who has a 100 percent record at stud.
A $280,000 Karaka buy for Collett, Shandream is a sister to the multiple winner Marahau and half-sister to Doubly Sure (O’Reilly), Dashing Saveel (Savabeel) and Silk Negligee (No Excuse Needed). It is also the international family of the Gr 1 Yorkshire Oaks winner Catchascatchcan and Gr 2 Railway Stakes winner and sire Antonious Pius.
